Letter to Reading West Residents

Rachel Eden

Dear Fellow Resident,

I am writing to you to ask you to vote for me on Thursday December 12th.

Reading West is my home and I’m passionate about our community. I’m bringing up my family here, I run my awardwinning small business here, and I’m a local councillor here.

As your MP, I will stand by your side and work with you. For me this is not about a career in Westminster – it is about our community here in Reading West, which I will always put first. As a councillor I stand up for the services that we all rely on.

Meanwhile, under the Conservatives our local NHS is under huge pressure. I’ve seen first-hand the effects of cuts in my own children’s school and other schools across Reading and West Berkshire. We also have fewer police on the streets and local charities are struggling. As your MP I would prioritise investing in our communities.

The Conservatives’ repeated failures on Brexit have also been hugely damaging to Reading West. I have been active in calling for a public vote on Brexit to resolve this. As your MP I would give you the final say on Brexit and campaign to remain in the EU.

This election is also about the future of our planet. I am very proud to have pushed for Reading to declare a climate emergency and to ensure our community takes real, practical action. As your MP I would push for the UK to lead the world in tackling climate change.

If you vote for me on Thursday 12th December I will make sure our voice is heard in Westminster.
