Information and Support for Older People at Free Town Centre Event

HELP and advice for older people is available at a Reading Older People’s Partnership (ROPP) event on Wednesday 13th November.

‘Services and Support in Later Life’ takes place at Greyfriars Hall, Friar Street, Reading RG1 1EH from 10.30am to 12.30pm – refreshments and registration from 10am. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible.

Aimed at people over 60 and their carers, as well as professionals who plan or deliver services to this age group, the event will support Reading’s older people with keeping well and staying independent.

Also at the event, attendees can meet organisations that work with older people in the community. Stall holders include ReadiBus, Berkshire Carers Service, and the Royal Berkshire Hospital Comprehensive Care for Older People with Cancer (COCOC) Team.

Rachel Eden, Reading Lead Councillor for Adult Social Care, said:

“Reading Borough Council and a wide range of organisations that provide essential services for older people are collaborating on this event. This is a great opportunity for older people and their carers to come along, find out about local services that are relevant to them, and have a friendly and informal chat about their concerns and requirements”.
