Happy New Year

It is easy to forget all that happens in a year.  This one has despite everything had so many highlights for our local Labour team – these pics from my instagram feed were a good reminder:
Tea and cake with Jeremy Corbyn, out and about in Whitley for ‘talktober’, the launch of Women with Vision, a TV interview, parliamentary candidate in June, members of Readings’s Access & Disability working group, community gardening as part of the Jo Cox more in common commemoration, visiting our newest estate in Whitley, remembrance day.

Thank you to everyone who I worked with last year. And I look forward to continuing to work with you as you strive to make the world kinder, safer and better.

Not pictured here but as a bit of self indulgence here is a list (in no particular order) of some other highlights of my own year: being a finalist as entreprenuer of the year in a regional awards, some amazing times with my family and friends (yesterday’s trip to the panto being one), the fun campaigning in Pangbourne with Barry Gardiner, the mental health events as part of Brighter Berkshire, standing up for Reading in council meetings, chairing the Reading Labour women’s forum, the work my little business has done to help local charities, petitioning against the bedroom tax with Martin Salter taking on my first employee, speaking at Pakistan Day, campaigning with Matt Rodda, Liv Bailey and Anneliese Doods, giving a Christmas reading at St Agnes and trying wheelchair basketball for the first time.
