Waterfest is one of the gems of early summer in Reading. After last night’s dramatic thunderstorm we were a little nervous about whether it would suffer as it has sometimes done from too much water. Last year I ended up drying out 2 toddlers in the library and I think it was 2 years ago the boat parade was cancelled because of high water levels.
This year fortunately there was just a short sharp downpour which had us running for the tents but didn’t last long.
The morris men were a highlight and I thought the new stage was a good innovation.
All in all a success for the council and the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust working together with the community.
