Phoenix Day Centre Welcomes BP Volunteers
30/09/2013
Reading Borough Council Press Release
PHOENIX Day Centre has had a mini-makeover thanks to a corporate volunteer team.
On 25th September, BP employees visited the council-run facility for older people, located just off Liebenrood Road, to update the relaxation room, redecorate a corridor, tidy the garden and paint fences.
The team of 26 volunteers also helped out at lunchtime by serving meals and chatting to users.
The Centre was an excellent fit for BP’s community programme by providing the setting for a fun and beneficial team building experience.
Rachel Eden, Reading Lead Councillor for Adult Social Care, said:
“We really appreciate BP’s volunteer team’s hard work in sprucing up some of the Centre’s most popular spaces. It is important to maintain an attractive, fit-for-purpose environment to match our high quality services. We hope that the volunteers enjoyed meeting everyone at the Centre and we would like to thank them again for taking the time and effort to help out.”
