Public Remembrance ceremonies in Reading #rdg this Sunday @Poppylegion

I will be at Brock Barracks as usual but because Remembrance Sunday is 11th the Forebury Memorial is having a ceremony too.

Ceremonies will take place across Reading on Remembrance Sunday (Nov 11) to pay tribute to the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in defence of this country.

Remembrance Day falls on a Sunday this year and there will be two minute silences at the annual ceremony at Brock Barracks, on the Oxford Road, and at the Forbury War Memorial. The two ceremonies will be led by Reading Mayor Jenny Rynn and Deputy Mayor Deborah Edwards respectively. Both will begin at 11am. All Reading residents are welcome to attend either event.  The leader of the council will be at the Tielhurst Triangle and I am sure there will be some councillors at Christchurch Meadows as well.

Additionally, there will be Royal British Legion ceremonies at the Tilehurst Triangle War Memorial and at the War Memorial in Christchurch Meadows.

If you haven’t got your poppy yet the stall in Broad Street Mall has a really good range of pins, bands etc as well as the traditional poppy
