Reading Community Energy Society grants available

Reading Community Energy Society gives grants every year to help improve energy efficiency in the community.  They have £3,000 to give each year at present and we are inviting applicants to apply.  Individual applications can be up to £1,000.

As one of the board members of Reading Community Energy Society I’m proud of our work to improve energy efficiency and to create renewable energy sources in the local community.  So far we have completed 10 solar panel installations on community buildings including Reading Community Church, Just Around the Corner charity headquarters, the Milestone Centre and St. Birinus.  We work with the help of Energy4All, a group of cooperatives, who have a 100% success rate in its work to help communities deliver renewable energy projects over the past 12 years.

In order to apply for this grant your application must meet at least one of the core aims Reading Community Energy Society board sets out. Firstly, it could aim to improve energy efficiency within your organisation or local area. It could also contribute towards reducing carbon emissions or alternatively it could be used to support sustainability.  Your application must be for an initiative within the Greater Reading area which allows for a 10 mile radius of Reading Town Hall.
