My Priorities

Speaking with members across Earley and Woodley, I know that you share my concerns.

That we need to campaign on the cost of living crisis to make sure that all our communities share in our area’s success.

Tackle the climate and environmental crises to bring us new green jobs and stop our rivers being polluted for profit.

And rebuild our National Health Service and social care system.

Cost of Living

Card Title

I know from both my own experience as a parent of a young person with SEN, and from my work as a local councillor about how tough life is for many people in our communities. I’ll work for decent, well paid jobs with strong workers’ rights as part of Labour’s New Deal for Working People, for a social security system which enables people to live with dignity, and for high quality, affordable childcare.

Climate Crisis

Card Title

I help run Labour’s Environment Campaign, SERA – and I will be a champion for the urgent action that a Labour Government needs to take to tackle the climate crisis and make Britain a clean energy superpower. I’m a director of a clean energy generation co-operative and I’ve led on initiatives within Reading to get the council to support co-operative solutions to reduce emissions.

NHS and Social Care

Card Title

Our NHS and our social care services are at breaking point and desperately need a Labour Government. I’ve led Reading’s services for elderly and vulnerable people, so I know the challenges first-hand. I will make sure we get the investment that’s needed in health and social care. And, I’ll work to help deliver reforms so they work better together, and are more effective at preventing problems at the earliest possible stage.
